Badminton BC Membership
Current paid up Badminton BC membership is mandatory for play in all clubs. All current players will have a BBC membership “number", but your annual dues still need to be paid. This is vital to provide the clubs and their executive Liability Insurance as well as provide players with Sport Accident coverage (see below)
Maintaining active membership will be the responsibility of players. BBC membership is now $10/year for a Recreational Membership (all that we require). The BBC year runs June 1 to May 31.

The Insured shall submit the completed claim form to the association or club executive for their signed certification.
Proof of claim, including a report from the attending dentist or doctor, must be submitted within 90 days of the date of the accident.

COVID-19 Exceptions
Badminton BC affiliated clubs would be covered under the following ministry act:
The Province of B.C.'s announcement extending liability protection to not-for-profit amateur sport organizations for damages resulting from exposure to COVID-19.
For example, a sport organization or its representatives will not be liable for a participant in their sports program being exposed to COVID-19 as a result of participation. That liability protection would be in place as long as they follow applicable guidance, such as viaSport’s Return to Sport protocols and public-health guidance on how to prevent the spread of the virus. This guidance includes encouraging proper hand-washing, regular disinfecting, limiting shared equipment, physical distancing measures and the use of wellness questionnaires and health self-assessment tools.
